Will we see you at SREcon22 Americas? The conference will be held March 14–16 in San Francisco, CA, USA. You are welcome to attend in person or virtually.

For the in-person conference, we have worked hard to create a safe environment for all participants. Specifically, everyone will be vaccinated, well-masked, and tested daily. More details about these expectations are below, and also in the SREcon22 Americas Terms and Conditions. We appreciate the SREcon community’s collaboration in ensuring everyone’s safety by planning to arrive between 7:00 am and 8:30 am daily to participate in mandatory testing.

We recognize that deciding whether to attend a conference in person is currently a complicated process. Thus we have adjusted the following deadlines:

We’ll be taking the following measures at the in-person conference to keep all conference participants safe:

Daily Mandatory Testing

  • All attendees and USENIX staff will be antigen tested each morning prior to being admitted to the event. Testing will take place each morning from 7:00 am to 8:30 am. External, independent tests will not be accepted.
  • Latecomers cannot be tested after this window and will need to attend the conference virtually that day. They are welcome to attend in person on subsequent day(s) if they can arrange to arrive on time for the testing window. Speakers who test positive will present their talks virtually as well.

Vaccination and Mask Requirements

  • All participants must show proof of full vaccination, per WHO guidelines, to be admitted to the conference. Physical cards, photocopies, scans, or digital records are all acceptable proof. If you do not have proof of vaccination upon arrival to the event, you will not be allowed entry.
  • All participants must wear good masks that cover all respiratory orifices (for most people, that means nose and mouth), and they must be highly effective.*

On behalf of the program co-chairs—Mohit Suley (Microsoft) and Heidi Waterhouse (LaunchDarkly)—and the program committee, we look forward to seeing you at the conference!

* What are acceptable mask standards? Chinese KN95 (GB2626-2006), Korean KF94 (KMOEL - 2017-64), European FFP2 or FFP3 (EN 143), or NIOSH {N/R/P}{95,99,100}. If the respirator has an exhale valve, the valve must be visibly sealed, such as by being fully taped over. Cloth and surgical masks are not sufficiently protective, especially against an aerosol virus as infectious as Omicron.
