Dear Friend:

As I celebrated my first anniversary with USENIX last month, I reflected on what a great year it's been getting to know the various communities we serve. I also observed that there's no substitute for in-person communications to help build, strengthen, and broaden your personal and professional networks.

Why build your network by attending a USENIX conference?

  • Gain new perspectives on existing problems. Sometimes that spontaneous conversation in the lunch buffet line can bring about the perfect solution to your latest work challenge.
  • Open the door to collaboration. Discover others who share your passion and curiosity for leading-edge topics in advanced computer systems.
  • Expand your horizons for future career growth. When it's time for a change, finding a new role is frequently about "who you know."

With a year of conference participation under my belt, I can vouch for USENIX providing a safe and welcoming environment that facilitates and nurtures these connections. I strongly encourage you to make attendance at one of our upcoming conferences a priority.

I look forward to seeing you there and meeting you in person!

Cheers,
Liz Markel
USENIX Community Engagement Manager
